This region is in the eastern part of Nepal in the Solukhumbu district. In the Everest region trekkers have the opportunity to explore the lifestyle of the Himalayan people, their religion, customs and traditions. This region is inside the Sagarmatha National Park (1148 sq. km) which was established in 1976 and was added to the list of World Heritage Sites in 1979.
